Opening Reception: Thursday november 16, 5-7pm
Take a ride with Sugar Bee, a new series of black and white paintings by Sheila Gregory. Capturing memories of ramblin’ deep south road trips beyond the city limits. Sugar Bee is a bit bluesy, a bit smoky, with a touch of rhinestone soul. Dark pours into light and light flows into dark on this strange painterly journey into the hart of the American south. These works are fluid, runny and dripping with beautiful painterly excess and intensity. Great friction and heat is produced in the works’ playful push/pull effect as elements struggle to the surface of these dynamic multilayered paintings.
