Holiday Window at Lonsdale Gallery courtesy of George Boileau
On January 10, 2009
Lonsdale Gallery closed for approximately two weeks over the holiday season. During this time, we wanted to leave on display a piece which would incite conversation about art. George Boileau’s sculpture “A History of Discourse” certainly did that.
In response to the questions we have received since its installation: Yes- the gun is a real .44 calibre, cap and ball, black powder revolver for its historical reference. The revolver has been officially deactivated and approved by the R.C.M.P.
