George Boileau
Artist Bio
Sculptor George Boileau has exhibited extensively throughout Ontario since he graduated from the Ontario College of Art in 1983. Previous to this, Boileau attained his Bachelor of Engineering at Carlton University in 1976. The influence of his engineering background is apparent in his work Boileau situates his figures in alienating structural environments that can be associated with technocratic advancement. His work, nevertheless, always bespeaks the intellectual strength, resilience and dignity of humankind. Boileau’s sculptures are sought by many private and corporate collectors in Canada and the United States, including two recent commissions: The Bow for the Bank of Montreal/Barclays Bank and Rampart for the Ontario Securities Commission, George Boileau has been teaching sculpture and installation at the Ontario College of Art and Design since 1987.
