Mabel Odessey
Artist Bio
Born in 1959 in New York. Mabel received her B.A. in Art and Design from Bradford and Ilkley College U.K. Now based in France, Mabel Odessey is a photographer who works primarily using the age old process of pinhole photography. Mabel uses her medium to engage subjects of light and movement. Recently, Mabel paired with a jazz pianist to create a series and subsequent video titled, Piano Paille Pinhole. These works intimately explore how sounds can be expressed through light, capturing the tension, surprises and accidents of improvisations. Her images resonate with sound and atmosphere of music.
Mable’s work is featured in exhibitions throughout Europe and North America. She has been exhibiting with Lonsdale Gallery since 2002.
